Meadows 06:44
Trees bend in solitary nightfall a song of dusk electrifies the air and blazed these memories within the consciousness we share Lost you in the ether Realms we were not meant to understand Pathways convoy deeper Wandering the meadow's great expanse Lustrous and scented by petrichor The moorlands are vivid and yes I must stay here as the moonbroch appears, now I... I can see it Lost you in the ether Realms we were not meant to understand Pathways convoy deeper Wandering the meadow's great expanse And please do remember as death sings on the breeze that your fears are justified and the pain is gone as its spell sets you free
2.
Lullabies in the dying light she sings to me damaged from the other side Reach to the flame I can't see and it's fading The trees and the graves keep their distance as they're waiting Leaving the cove And the water's getting colder Slipping away from the pain of life Leave with me if you can break free a moonlit night a pathway to the sea Reach to the flame I can't see and it's fading The trees and the graves keep their distance as they're waiting Leaving the cove And the water's getting colder Slipping away from the pain of life
3.
Sun settled on the breeze the poison in the leaves has calmed me down And it's so serene Think I could die right here, right now Calling, broken in the air One day, I'll be with you there Moon I know it needs me still been sleeping on the hill within your glow I found my peace Bonded we breathe, the great unknown
4.
Sleepless, destinies unwritten etched into the cavern walls Endless, headlong into the distance as the candle hits the floor Coastal tides cleansing the dregs from the mires Oceans of night in its depths where I lie Out of my mind and my inhibitions die Open your eyes Weathered, a castaway subsisting Left my memory with the shore Within the filaments of existence soon we will be no more Coastal tides cleansing the dregs from the mires Oceans of night In its depths where I lie Out of my mind and my inhibitions die Open your eyes...
5.
Sun like empresses concealed amongst the leaves of jade Dust-off halos, clean the blade a firefly's glance upon the black The quietus within that surrounds you Disconnect him from the pain Black out this day as it falls away Through the pastures of the mind Go to the light It's always there Scent of oceans will remind you In stillness of the blood My time has come, just this once And couldn't I be the one With shades undrawn, eternal sun A dream that we sustained beyond the deeds of Earth Horizon's tallgrasses and cranes the arbor's messengers Gone into the fathoms blue The deep expanse is near Twilight of the sea As voyagers, our shores appear And if this vessel dies tonight, go to the light It's always there shed no tears, for I will find you In stillness of the blood My time has come, just this once And couldn't I be the one With shades undrawn, eternal sun Divination setting in... by our losses To hover silent in the din... through the crosses The vapors clear and you remain... empyreal In the warmth of gold sunbeams... eternal

Cloud Map 08:10
The setting sun, the ashen graves A wind-swept island, I want to stay alone among the trees Dancing embers in the breeze Numb and lifted up on the inside I feel it now With death so close, you never know And I’m free somehow To fly so low, and let it go And the emptiness, it knows no grief There is no memory within the deep Lucid and released soaring high above the trees as suffering fades far in the distance I feel it now With death so close, you never know And I’m free somehow I'm free The doorway looms the space beyond, it calls to you and so it seems that which was, will always be will always be... Bending with the branches Hallways and a staircase that leads straight down Closer for the last time Passed on to the other side of the door I'm left behind And now I know yeah now I know I've always known And I just need to let it go
9.
Shorelines on fire crashing waves, reflections of the portals in the sky The nightmare subsides, pulled from the storm to the fathoms of your eyes To keep it all inside Safe with me up high To cut us loose and fly
10.
Sink into the forest floor and leave no trace Comburent revenants beholden to the grave. Some are close still others languish far away I've seen this place, and the light it shines yet abandoned it now stands before me. Into the deep end... It's locked within The life I left here years ago And dust has cleared upon the oceans I let go. Set a course to where the skyline meets the sea We could escape, and set a blaze to the shipyards that lie somewhere in between Into the deep end... Blackness covers it rips our lives away And I wonder if the pines, they feel no pain? Yet it burns so I hide it away Can't let it go... it's always there.

about

Arctic Sleep's seventh album, "Kindred Spirits" dives further into explorations of universal themes... life & death, earth & space, beauty & sorrow.

Finding himself once again as a solo artist, Arctic Sleep founder Keith D wrote all of the music for the album with his closest & dearest friend by his side... a snowshoe cat named Yoda. Right when the music for the album had been completed, Yoda fell gravely ill and passed away. Crushed, Keith set to work writing the lyrics in bereavement. The result is "Kindred Spirits," a musical work intended to bring comfort and solace to anyone who has experienced loss, be it human or animal.

No matter what dark place you are in, this album is intended to be by your side and help you find your way through the mires of sadness and to the meadows of hope that lie beyond.

While still maintaining Arctic Sleep's signature sound, "Kindred Spirits" was recorded using more natural-sounding production techniques which results in an organic, honest, straightforward vibe. There is nothing to hide and all is laid bare here. Crank up the volume and let it take you away.

The album welcomes back drummer Nick Smalkowski and features guest appearances from vocalists Craig Cirinelli and Bridget Bellavia for added emotion & power. Recorded over two weeks in the backwoods of Montgomery NY with acclaimed producer John Naclerio, this is Arctic Sleep's most emotional and sincere work to date.
